Introduction
Welcome to the Burnside Comenius page which has been created to celebrate interculturalism in 2008. There are five partner schools involved in the project - Spain, Portugal, Poland, Germany and Greece.
The title of the project is - Let’s get to know each other.
The aims of the project are:
- To create opportunities for young people to work together across cultures in Europe
- To create opportunities for all schools to develop their understanding of the diversity of European cultures
- To encourage young people to become active European citizens
- To help young people in their personal development ie. character building
We are going to look at several themes over the next two years with our partner schools and these will include:
- Knowing me, knowing you
- Cultural diversity - leisure activities
- Community - exchanging information about areas where we live
- Cultural heritage and festivals
